about Barefoot basil

Hi, I’m Silvija Meilūnaitė, the creator of Barefoot Basil. At 40, I’ve come to understand how deeply life’s challenges, like a back injury and burnout, can affect both body and mind. While searching for healing, I found a passion for wellness that began with nutrition and has grown into a more holistic approach to living.
Today, Barefoot Basil is about helping people create healthier, more intentional lives. I focus on clean, non-toxic products, including supplements, functional fashion, and high-quality lifestyle products, from barefoot shoes and sustainable leggings to non-toxic appliances and fitness tools. I also share evidence-based guidance on nutrition, movement, breathwork, meditation, and the most effective exercises to support both physical and mental resilience.
Nutrition remains at the heart of my philosophy. While I live a plant-based lifestyle for ethical reasons, I encourage everyone to explore the benefits of eating more plants. As I navigate perimenopause, I’ve experienced how small, consistent shifts in food, mindset, and daily habits can make a real difference in how I feel.
Barefoot Basil was born from a dream to help 3 million people live healthier lives, a number close to the population of my home country, Lithuania. Whether it’s through smarter choices, supportive routines, or science-backed insights, I aim to make wellness practical and accessible to everyone.
I’m also committed to ongoing learning. I hold several nutrition certifications and the GGS Menopause Coaching Specialist Certification to better support women through every stage of life.
