There are many blenders on the market made from plastic containers, but the reason I want to choose one with a glass or steel container is for these reasons:
1. Microplastic shedding
All plastics, even BPA-free ones like Tritan, can shed microplastic particles over time.
Blenders create high mechanical stress (high-speed blades, vibration, heat), which increases wear and the potential release of microplastics into your food.
2. Chemical Leaching Due To The Heat
If you are blending hot soups and souces there is a danger of chemicals from plastic leaching into your food.
3. Surface scratching
Plastic, even if very hard and durable scratch more easily than glass or stainless steel.
Scratches increase microplastic shedding, trap residues and bacteria, and can make cleaning less effective
