Korean skincare trends come and go, but few brands have made as big a splash lately as Medicube. With its devices and serums going viral on TikTok and climbing Amazon bestseller charts, it’s hard not to wonder, is Medicube actually worth the hype, and how clean are its ingredients?
I’m not a dermatologist, but as someone deeply interested in ingredient research and clean skincare, I always read labels before trying anything new. I was pleasantly surprised to see that many Medicube products contain clean and high-quality ingredients. I will list a few products that I recommend for skin over 40, including the Medicube Collagen mask, and a few that I would avoid.
In Short: Is Medicube a Good Brand?
Yes, I think Medicube is a good and affordable skincare brand overall, but I wouldn’t recommend every product. What I like most is the combination of active ingredients, affordable prices, and innovative formulations. I’ve personally used several Medicube products and particularly liked the Deep Vita A Retinol Serum.
However, Medicube isn’t what I would consider a completely “clean” skincare brand. Many products contain fragrance, and some of its more aggressive exfoliating products may not suit sensitive perimenopausal skin. My approach is to judge Medicube product by product rather than test every trend.

What Makes Medicube Different?
Medicube is a K-beauty tech company that soared in popularity with its science-driven, technology-led approach to skincare. Massive marketing campaigns across TikTok and Instagram, with nearly every skincare influencer in the Western world, gave the brand huge visibility and buzz.
What I appreciate about Medicube is how it combines innovation with affordability by using powerful, high-quality ingredients that would cost ten times more if produced in the U.S. or Europe.
Some people argue that Medicube jumps on every new ingredient trend, but maybe that’s exactly what keeps them ahead of the curve and pushes the innovation?
What makes Medicube stand out is its ability to design products that look as good as they perform, well, most of the time.

Medicube describes itself as a “K-beauty tech company,” and its flagship device, the Age-R Booster Pro, AKA “All-in-One Glass Glow Wand,” embodies that vision.

Does Medicube Age-R Booster Pro work? According to a small study published by the brand, where a small group of women were using the tool for 4 weeks, these were the results.
The device is much stronger than others and will add 10 to 15 minutes to your skin care routine.
Many users love the results, even if they are subtle. However, it does require patience; the process takes time, and you need to use it regularly to see the results. So it’s best suited for those who enjoy a more involved skincare routine. It is also important to make sure you use products that suit you and keep the device clean.

Medicube Skincare Products Suited for skin over 40
I am currently testing a few products, and I love them so far. I have finished a tub of Medicube DEEP VITA A RETINOL SERUM and really enjoyed it. The consistency is very nice, as it did not irritate my skin, and I did stick to their recommendations of using it every other day for the first two weeks.
It has a score of 65/100 on Yuka, and the only thing I was not a fan of is that it does contain fragrance.
Medicube Collagen Jelly Cream
KEY INGREDIENTS – Hydrolyzed Collagen
SKINCARE CONCERN- for firmer looking, more hydrated skin
This collagen cream has become a bestseller, and for good reason. The formulation is clean, earning an 86/100 score on Yuka, which reflects its ingredient transparency and safety. But clean ingredients alone aren’t enough; they also need to deliver real results.
Traditional collagen molecules are typically too large to penetrate the skin barrier. As a result, most collagen creams act mainly as moisturizers, improving hydration and surface texture rather than boosting collagen production in deeper layers.
Medicube takes a more advanced approach by using hydrolyzed collagen, a smaller and more absorbable form. Research shows that these particles can penetrate the stratum corneum and reach deeper layers of the skin, where they may support elasticity and firmness over time.(1)(2)
The only drawback? It contains fragrance, which might not be ideal for those with sensitive skin. I wish Medicube had skipped the perfume, as the formula itself is strong enough to stand on its own.

Medicube Products I’d Skip.
Medicube has some very experimental and new products that might be very harsh for the face skin, and, looking at quite a few dermatologists online, I would give them a pass, especially if you, like me, are over 40 and your skin needs a bit more care and gentle ingredients.
Medicube One day Exosome Shot is something very novel and new, and it does not feel good on your skin. You can watch a very entertaining video on it:
Medicube Zero Pore Pads are another very popular product that is great for exfoliation; however, they could be very harsh and strip the skin barrier. If you are eager to test them, I would recommend a milder version
or
Medicube Toner Pads Salmon DNA PDRN Pink Collagen Jelly Pad
and maybe not use them on the entire face, but only on the areas that need strong exfoliation, such as the nose, T-zone, or even your elbows.
Conclusion,
Is Medicube a good brand?
It depends on what you want from your skincare. I do love that Medicube pushes the boundaries and brings innovation to skincare.
I also love how affordable the products are, but I wish they would have more formulations without perfume to make them even cleaner and better suited for sensitive, aging skin.
Like with all skincare brands, it is more about a specific product that works for you and your skin type. So make sure to choose the products not because they are viral on TikTok, but because of the ingredients that work for your skin. So overall, I would say Medicube is a great skincare brand, but I would not call it clean. They do have some great products with clean ingredients.
